Forbidden!

Add to the list of words that must NEVER, EVER be uttered or written. (Except in the privacy of your own home in the company of other 'bigoted xenophobes')

The "C" word . . . No, not that "C" word! There's a new "C" word in town.

Dare I say it!?  Oh, why not?  I LIVE to offend! . . .

CITIZEN! (That felt good!)

Citizen, CITIZEN, CITIZENI can hear the citizens of Seattle gasping!

Sometimes Without, Or Inspite Of, Governmental Coersion...

. . . America just does the right thing. (Historical events that liberals would prefer to ignore)

Thanks to CBS Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) – Members of Loyola University’s 1963 national champion basketball team will meet President Barack Obama in the Oval Office, 50 years after they helped break down racial barriers.

WBBM Newsradio’s Mike Krauser reports the 1963 Loyola Ramblers made history not only for rallying from a 15-point deficit to beat defending champion Cincinnati for the NCAA title; they were the first team to start four African-American players

On their way to the title, they faced Mississippi State in the semifinals, after that team had to sneak away in the middle of the night, because Mississippi Gov. Ross Barnett, a staunch segregationist, wanted to prevent them from playing against an integrated team.

The Mississippi State Maroons and Loyola Ramblers ended up playing at Michigan State’s stadium.

“This is a real part of American history, and these guys lived it, and battled, and really stood up to some of these awful, awful things, and they still have a smile on their face,” said Loyola senior associate athletics director Pat Kraft. “They keep saying ‘we were just playing a basketball game.’”

Their matchup with Mississipi State came to be known as “The Game of Change,” and paved the way for Texas Western’s historic win over Kentucky in 1966, when Texas Western was the first team to start five black players. Texas Western beat Kentucky’s all-white team for the 1966 NCAA title.
This relatively quiet event lacked a lot of the drama that we've come to expect in all matters involving race. Nonetheless, the effects of this milestone were profound, far reaching, and dramatic . . . Amazing that such a noble turn of events could come to pass in a country SO full of racists! <--- sarcasm

Though not perfect, maybe America really IS basically a good and moral nation. We reflect on this ground breaking basketball team and, though it's not generally politically correct to do so, we celebrate how far we've come.

Nadal Hasan... An Islamist Until Proven Innocent

After four years, jury selection has finally started in the trial of Maj. Nidal Hasan. As it begins, Mr. Hasan, who is representing himself, wants EVERYONE to know that he's not at all happy with his attire.
FORT HOOD, Texas, July 9 (UPI) -- Maj. Nidal Hasan, charged with the massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, said Tuesday he wants jurors to know he is being "forced" to wear a U.S. Army uniform.

During Tuesday's hearing, Hasan said he believes the Army uniform "represents an enemy of Islam."
"I can't take any pride in wearing this uniform," Hasan said. "I want the panel to know that, that I am being forced to wear it."

OK, this IS a court martial. But after all the public statements this scum has made, it's a shame, no, make that a disgrace, that he's allowed to wear the uniform at all. Of course it would also be unacceptable to permit him to don his preferred jihadi garb. So why not deck him out in an understated Victoria's Secret negligee  .  .  .  and a pig nose!?

More Government By Regulatory Fiat

He couldn't his environmental agenda through Congress, so the President is attempting push his plan by issuing scores of new EPA regulations.

The Obama administration is looking forward to a host of new environmental regulations that go far beyond the president's plans to issue new standards for greenhouse gas emissions from new and existing power plants.

The new regulations, previewed in the administration's spring regulatory roadmap released this week, cover everything from pollution runoff from military ships to landfill methane emissions, and in some cases will be issued long after called for under the law.
This September, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plans to propose rules for greenhouse gas emissions from new power plants, and next June will issue draft rules for existing facilities.

Those dates match up with the timeline President Obama has given for the new regulations, which supporters have cheered as a major step in confronting climate change.

Though this tactic isn't new, it is surely unconstitutional and these economy killing regulations are extremely worrisome.  Obama is desperate for a "win" to promote his personal legacy, Constitution and individual liberty be damned!

Tell Congress to uphold and enforce the Constitution.  That is, after all, what they were elected to do!  And while they're at it, they need to force this President to do the same!

Addendum:

A little refresher for the President and Congress too courtesy of "School House Rock".

Head Shake Of The Day

Jennifer Lopez performed in Turkmenistan on Saturday where her performance included a chorus of "Happy Birthday" sung to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the country's leader.  Much to Ms. Lopez's chagrin, it was later discovered that Berdimuhamedow has been criticized for severe human rights violations and that Turkmenistan is classified as one of the most repressive societies in the world.

. . . Oops!

Predictably, Jennifer now regrets the whole ugly incident.
Lopez's publicist says the event was vetted* by Lopez's staff: "Had there been knowledge of human rights issues any kind, Jennifer would not have attended."
Hasn't Jennifer or her highly qualified staff ever heard of Google or Bing?   How hard is it to spend ten minutes researching a venue that you not only can't locate on a map, but likely can't pronounce?  Then again, maybe when you're a world famous singer/performer, it's not where you're performing, but rather the number of tickets sold that matters.

*vetted - There's that word again (see previous post).  Apparently "Lopez's staff" is as thorough and reliable as the Obama officials who are vetting the Syrian rebels.
