Following the Boston Marathon bombing last Monday in which pressure cookers were used for the explosion, the cookware giant has decided to temporarily stop selling the items in their Massachusetts stores.
Has anyone proposed banning the sale of pressure cookers at garage sales yet? You can't be too careful!!! . . . WAIT a minute, YES YOU CAN!
Pressure cookers do scare the crap out of me. I'm afraid to use one for fear of blowing a hole in my kitchen ceiling, but pressure cookers don't kill ceilings, people who don't read directions kill ceilings! Nor do these maligned pots kill people . . . Islamic terrorists who build bombs inside pressure cookers kill people.
Instead of running around flailing our hands in the air in an effort to DO SOMETHING, we should try focusing on, and dealing with, the real source of the problem . . .
. . . Even if it's NOT politically correct!
Pressure cookers can be very scary in the kitchen. I'll gladly risk it for a country style pork rib, potato, and sauerkraut meal. Ironic that I would cook pork in a pressure cooker! Let alone use one for it's intended purpose!
ReplyDeletePreparing pork in a pressure cooker . . . PERFECTION! It IS worth the risk. They'll have to pry my pressure cooker out of my cold dead hands!
ReplyDeleteOr out of your ceiling!
DeletePotatoes, kraut, and pork EVERYWHERE!! Glad it will be someone else's clean-up problem!
