What's It All About?

It's all about gay marriage, the right of same sex couples to wed . . . BUT IS IT?  According to Daniel Greenfield, that isn't really the issue at all.
The only question worth asking about gay marriage is whether anyone on the left would care about this crusade if it didn't come with the privilege of bulldozing another civilizational institution.

Gay marriage is not about men marrying men or women marrying women, it is about the deconstruction of marriage between men and women. That is a thing that many men and women of one generation understand but have trouble conveying to another generation for whom marriage has already largely been deconstructed.

The statistics about the falling marriage rate tell the tale well enough. Marriage is a fading institution. Family is a flickering light in the evening of the West.

This is simply the best, most thoughtful analysis of the subject that I've seen.

Seems like fighting these battles will take more than emails, faxes, and phone calls (not that you shouldn't continue doing all three).  Don't you think it's time for a couple of million "citizen patriots" to make their way to D.C. by any means possible to shut the place down?

March 23, 1775

Today is the 238th anniversary one of the greatest speeches of all time. It was given by Patrick Henry to the Second Virginia Convention at St. John's Church in Richmond, Virginia. It is said that his powerful words were instrumental in persuading the Virginia House of Burgesses to send Virginia troops to The Revolutionary War.  His remarks were not transcribed but were reconstructed years later from the recollections of people who were present when the speech was delivered.

How Uncommon! Common Sense From The Senate

I'm sure it was purely unintentional and unlikely to happen again anytime soon, but please observe the acumen exhibited by Senator Jeff Sessions.

Instead of more government handouts WHY NOT help welfare recipients find jobs before we offer what few jobs there are to non-citizens?  WHY NOT create a climate conducive to job creation rather than creating new government programs to give the unemployed more 'free stuff'?  WHY NOT restore a work requirement to our welfare system to help the jobless keep their dignity and sense of self worth?  WHY NOT return to the principles set forth in our Constitution that protect a man's (woman's) God given right to pursue the American dream not provide him with a dream of the government's choosing?

WHY NOT?

Obamacare Turns Three . . .

The "Affordable Care Act", though not fully implemented, is one hot mess which needs to be dismantled before it totally ruins our health care system and destroys our economy.  We cannot accept this government run nightmare as settled law. It won't be easy, but we have to try.  There's too much at stake to be complacent.

Looking Forward to 2014

. . . Is this the best we can do?
Disgraced ex-governor Mark Sanford cleared the first hurdle of his political comeback bid on Tuesday night, earning a spot in a South Carolina runoff for the GOP nomination in his former congressional district.
And
Former Florida governor Charlie Crist might be making a comeback in 2014. A new Quinnipiac poll finds that the Republican turned independent turned Democrat leads Gov. Rick Scott (R) 50 to 34 percent among registered voters in the state.
Really?  Is this what we have to look forward to in 2014?  I sure hope not, but unless get motivated and moving we are in for a world of disappointment! (We might even wake up on Nov. 5, 2014 to find Ashley Judd sitting in the US Senate)

But fortunately, it's not all bad news . . .
Four months after she narrowly lost a Utah congressional race to Democrat Jim Matheson, Republican Mia Love says she is "seriously looking" at another run for the seat.

While attending the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., over the weekend, Love said that she hasn't made a decision yet but said she's ready to fight for Matheson's seat again.
That IS good news. If it doesn't get you off the couch and out the door there's little hope that anything will! (and little likelihood that Love's effort will be successful)

Harry Reid: Scumbag

Only a few hours after seven Marines were tragically killed in a training accident in Nevada, Harry Reid stepped forward to *hint* that the the accident and resulting deaths were the consequence of Sequester budget cuts.  Such a revelation would be horrific, were it true.  But it's not true.  Harry Reid is a heartless, soulless, lying piece of pooh, using dead Marines to further his political agenda.  If the people of Nevada have a shred of decency, they'll recall the wretched shameless cur.

Obama: In His Wildest Dreams

Apparently Barack Obama, when he's not busy trying to deep six the American dream, has dreams of his own.  Barack fantasizes about disguising himself (complete with moustache) in order to hang out with average Israeli citizens during his upcoming trip to Israel.

Ok, it's unlikely . . . but it might work, although I suspect his bejeweled Obama yarmulke  will give him away.

Habemus Papam: Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina

President Obama sent his regards . . .
"On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I offer our warm wishes to His Holiness Pope Francis as he ascends to the Chair of Saint Peter and begins his papacy. As a champion of the poor and the most vulnerable among us, he carries forth the message of love and compassion that has inspired the world for more than two thousand years—that in each other we see the face of God. As the first pope from the Americas, his selection also speaks to the strength and vitality of a region that is increasingly shaping our world, and alongside millions of Hispanic Americans, those of us in the United States share the joy of this historic day. Just as I appreciated our work with Pope Benedict XVI, I look forward to working with His Holiness to advance peace, security and dignity for our fellow human beings, regardless of their faith. We join with people around the world in offering our prayers for the Holy Father as he begins the sacred work of leading the Catholic Church in our modern world."

John Brennan Takes His Oath Of Office . . .

. . . on an early draft of the U. S. Constitution.  A draft so early that it's missing the Bill of Rights. All together now --

 "OH, the irony!"

But wait, there's more. Brennan isn't the first to take an oath of office on an alternative to the customary Bible. In January, Representative Kyrsten Sinema (D - Ariz.) took her oath of office on a copy of the Constitution, though her copy probably included the Bill of Rights.  Also, in 2007, Representative Keith Ellison put his hand on a copy of the Quran while being sworn into office. Name your poison! Coming soon . . . Chairman Mao's Little Red Book, The Satanic Bible,  or Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham.

Can you say "inclusive"?

Rand Paul's Most Excellent Fillibuster Adventure

By now everyone's aware that Rand Paul conducted a 13 hour filibuster in the Senate yesterday.  It held up John Brennan's confirmation while exploring a justice department memo dealing with the President, the fifth amendment, and drones. Some loved the event, some hated it.  Personally, I rather enjoyed it as it seemed to reflect the spirit of the filibuster as it was implemented in the Senate in 1841, as opposed to its more recent use as mere threats.  It was also reassuring to note that it is still possible to focus attention on an issue that is being under reported or totally ignored by our apostate free press.  Drones may not be the most pressing issue of the day... but the filibuster really did capture the attention of the main stream media who in turn informed their audience of low information citizens that although the chance of being shot by a UAV, is remote, it IS a possibility. (If *someone* happens to wake up in a bad mood, Eric Holder happens to still be the Attorney General, and no one is paying attention)  Scary, yes . . . Constitutional, no!

Now then, will Mr. Paul's filibuster heal our deficit or create jobs for our unemployed?  Most assuredly, it will not, but Senator Paul's seeming dedication to the Constitution and the tenets contained therein was, and is, refreshing! We could use more of it!  Furthermore, it made the President look bad and annoyed Senators McCain and Graham for reasons that only someone corrupted by too much time in Washington D.C. could understand.  All in all, it was a pretty good use of 13 hours!

P.S.
Though Mr. Brennan went on to be confirmed by the Senate as expected, Rand Paul was one of 31 Republicans who voted against confirmation while John McCain and Lindsey Graham predictably voted to confirm.  There's a lot more work to be done.

No More White House Tours For You! (Do You Feel Punished?)

Today the White House (being in their usual vindictive mood) announced that all White House tours will be suspended due to the evil Republican generated Sequester . . .

If Sequester is misery, let's mitigate the pain by redistributing it! (No golf for you, Barack!)

DHS Needs 2,700 MRAPs (Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicles) To Go With Their 1.6 Billion Bullet Cache

While we're still trying to figure out why our Department of Homeland Security feels the need to stockpile 1.6 billion bullets, we find out they've also purchased 2700 Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicles.

It's difficult to come up with too many domestic uses for this particular vehicle . . . unless we're  going to be mining our border with Mexico. (WHAT? . . . and cut off the endless supply of new Democratic voters!?)

Let's add this up.  The government is trying decimate our 2nd Amendment while they buy up boatloads of ammo and purchase thousands of armored military vehicles for domestic use.

What more do you need to know!?
