A Picture's Worth . . . 10 Buddhist Temples and 40 Houses

A photo of a burning Koran on Face Book enraged Bangladeshi Muslims, who immediately (without aid of fact checking) assigned blame, and executed a measured and appropriate response.

This made the Buddhists angry.  They flew into a rage and protested right back!

They formed a human chain and held up a sign that said, "We express our protest and condemnation"!  Which no doubt also offended the Muslims.  God knows what they'll set on fire next.

Now, the young man that is accused of this Face Book transgression was tagged in the burned Koran photo.  No one even knows if he had anything to do with posting the photo, but when it comes to Muslim rage, that simply doesn't matter.

What the hell is wrong with these people!?  I don't think they're even house broken!

Obama Speaks With Netanyahu By Phone, . . .

. . . tweets a this photo of the call,

http://cdn.breitbart.com/mediaserver/Breitbart/Big-Peace/2012/Obama/ObamaNetanyahu.png

and then sends a framed copy of the photo to Prime Minister Netanyahu.

... OK, I made up the part about sending the picture, but it sure seems like something Dear Leader would do.  You think it's really the Israeli PM on the other end of that phone call?  I'm thinking maybe it's Jay Z.

There's No Such Thing As A Free Phone

victim: noun: someone or something sacrificed, preyed upon

synonyms: butt, casualty, clown, dupe, easy make, easy mark, fatality, fool, injured party, innocent, mark, patsy, pawn, prey, pushover, sacrifice, soft touch, stooge, sucker

This woman, a protester (courtesy of SEIU) at a Romney campaign event outside Cleveland, is the proud recipient of a *free* "Obama phone".  She is obviously one of the 47% or subset thereof who Gov. Romney believes will vote for Barack Obama no matter what.  And she is a victim if there ever was one.  A victim of a progressive ideology that is only too happy to offer her another government program with more free stuff in exchange for her undying loyalty . . . and her vote.  Eventually, she becomes ensnared in the classic progressive cycle of dependency and hopelessness, a freeway with no exits.  As the number of these *willing* victims increase, so does the probability of a very unhappy ending. The violence currently taking place in Greece and Spain ought to serve as a warning. We need a Romney intervention, a restoration of America based on Constitutional, conservative principles.  We need it now!

Mitt Loves Ann . . .

Message of love: Mitt Romney is pictured in France circa 1968 with a message for his future wife. He made a series of photos for Ann with the help of his friends while serving as a Mormon missionary
. . . he really does, and he has for a long time. There's something very reassuring, and *normal* about that, and this candidate for President. Although there's no monument at the spot where Mitt and Ann shared their first kiss, there are lots of early photographs . . . and people who knew them when. It seems the more we learn about Mitt Romney, the better he looks . . . Can't say the same about the *other* candidate.

THIS Is Eye Candy . . .

and this isn't!

. . .  Even if he thinks he is.  Furthermore, while our economy is in the toilet, and there are protests and riots all over the globe, it might be beneficial to have a President who admires himself a little less and respects the office he holds a little more.  The shallowness of this man boggles the mind.

The Speech That Should Have Been Given At The U.N. Today

If You're Looking For The 'Face' Of Mormonism . . .

(And I'm sure you are!) Harry Reid will tell you that you won't find it here:

No, no NO!  According to Harry, Mitt's a bad Mormon.  His sin?  A comment Romney made in a *leaked* video where he is heard saying that he's not concerned about the 47% of Americans who pay no income taxes.  He obviously doesn't have an empathetic bone in his body!  Convincing evidence apparently meant to dissuade good Mormons from voting for Mitt . . . or something.

This kind of makes you wonder who Harry thinks ought to be the poster person for Mormonism.  Though Harry doesn't say, as the highest ranking Mormon in public office, I think we can guess . . .

His Ineptness Is Working Feverishly To Defuse The Situation In The Middle East

Headlines this weekend prove that the Obama administration is NOT standing idly by while the situation in the North Africa and the Middle East heat up:

Obama to Condemn Christian Filmmaker Before United Nations

Obama to Release One Third of Gitmo Inmates

The U.S. Has Bought $70,000 in TV Ads in Pakistan Denouncing Anti-Islam Film

. . . They've been busy, and to be truthful, their efforts have achieved results:

Anti-Islam film: Pakistan minister offers bounty

Not the results we were hoping for, but results are results! . . . Aren't they? Grovel on, Mr. President, Grovel on!

Another Shocking, Provocative, Tasteless Video

. . . but don't look for any torched embassies, burned flags, dead ambassadors, or condemnation from the State Department.  Neither will the creator of this arguably tasteless video be investigated by the Department of Justice or the FBI.  Even those who find this video offensive would agree that it is protected by the freedom of speech clause in our Constitution ... and thus:
“In civilized societies, if you are offended by a cartoon, you do not burn flags, take up guns and raid buildings, chant death to your opponents, or threaten suicide bombings. You write a letter to the editor.”
~Michelle Malkin - 1970
Contrast this with the reaction to the recently infamous "Innocence of Muslims" video.  The Middle East is on fire, roving hordes of Islamists burn American flags while chanting "Death to America" and the State Department can't condemn the video often enough. Rather than write a letter to the editor, the rioters and governments that incite them demand compliance to Islamic blasphemy laws and prosecution of those responsible for the video. Instead of dismissing these ridiculous demands, our current administration listens attentively, apologizes, and then, ignoring freedom of speech issues, threatens the video's author.  Apparently violence and threats of more trump our Constitution!  Unfortunately, we can tell from history that efforts to placate the mob are destined to fail and appeasement at the expense of our Constitution is tyranny.

What should we learn from all this?  First,  notice our governmental double standard.  This liberal administration is good at double standards.  In this case, however, the double standard is more than just annoying, it threatens our Constitutional God given right of free speech.  Do  not trust this administration to protect your rights.

Second, observe the dramatically different response of offended Christians, vs. offended Muslims/Islamists.  While all faiths can be offended (justifiably or not), only one *faith* responds to offense in a violent and destructive manner . . . Can we suggest, not sufficiently *evolved* or *matured*?  Such bad, uncivilized behavior is unacceptable.  This behavior requires no apology on our part and should be responded to accordingly.

Barack Obama's Cloudy Crystal Ball

 http://xba.xanga.com/9f9e03f379432283066517/z225697274.jpg

In 2007, presidential candidate Barack Obama gave an interview to New Hampshire Public Radio.  The ever modest, though prophetically challenged Obama painted a glowing prediction of what a his presidency would mean for the country, and the entire world.  Obama claimed he'd teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony . . . The WHOLE entire world . . . Even the Middle East!  Just listen . . .

Barack Obama NHPR Interview, 2007

. . . So now, after three and a half years of Obama "magic", we have a snapshot  of the Hezbollah/Hamas/Al Qaida Middle East neighborhood weenie roast . . . Campfires EVERYWHERE!  If you listen carefully you can almost hear them singing kumbaya.

Circling The Drain And Picking Up Speed!

The Obama Economic "Recovery" races "forward" . . . Well, not really forward, it's more a circular motion and frankly, I'm getting dizzy!  Jobless claims are up 15,000 to 382,000.  That's a two month high. Figures released Sept. 12 indicate that household income declined in 29 states last year. Gas prices shot up an impressive 13.9% in August, a 3 year high. Food prices rose .9% with the promise of even higher prices to come. But NOT to worry!  Ben Bernanke announced Thursday that the Fed will save us all with QE3, which is reassuring since we all know how well QE1 & 2 worked out. (should I insert the definition of insanity here for emphasis?)  When WAS the last time that more government involvement was the solution? Meanwhile, as we make one more trip around drain I'd appreciate it if someone would please pass me a Dramamine.

Shut The Barn Door, Barry!!

September 11, 2012

But may I suggest that next time you close it BEFORE the horses escape!

So our poorly protected embassies have been trashed, our flag defiled, and our citizens murdered.  Now what?  After apologizing, then kind of unapologizing, you sent fifty marines and two destroyers to Libya, then "unfriended" President Morsi of Egypt.  Too late, and not really adequate, but better than nothing.

For future reference, perhaps you should re-evaluate your policy national self effacement, it's not fostering friendship.  You might also find that actually attending a national security briefing or two would be enlightening  . . . But if your busy campaign and fund raising schedule precludes that, for God's sake, turn on the TV and instead of sports, tune in the news. You'll quickly see that the Muslim rage continues and the Middle East is smoldering.  Please don't let it burst into flames!

Clueless

via The Looking Spoon

How's that "Leading from behind" working out for you, Barack?  Maybe you haven't bowed enough, or perhaps another apology or two will change the minds of the murderous Middle Eastern mobs.  I suggest you hurry . . . before we run out of ambassadors!

If Barack Obama Had A Son . . .

. . . he'd look like one of these Chicago students.  Why doesn't he care enough to intervene in the Chicago teachers' strike so that all the city's kids can get back to class?  It's not like this President has maintained a hands off policy when it comes to local issues.  Of course Barack Obama's son wouldn't be attending *public* schools so maybe he just doesn't care, or maybe it's a matter of *politics*?

We Must Never Forget

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “
– President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001

Memo To Mitt:

In case you have forgotten, we would like to clarify our position on Obamacare!

. . . Please clarify yours!

A Very Bad Man, A Very Bad Wizard, Or Both?

According to White House press secretary Jay Carney we'd all be a lot happier and better off if we'd just stop "obsessing" about those pesky, seemingly elevated, unemployment numbers. Why am I sensing the old "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" flim flam?  Seems to me that the number of unemployed Americans ought to matter, REALLY matter.  So should the number (8 million) of under employed Americans,  and the ever ignored millions of folks who've just given up looking for work entirely.  Jay tells us not to look at those figures. Instead, look over there . . . at the 30 straight months of job creation! Funny, he doesn't mention that the number of jobs created don't keep up with the population growth or that a large percentage of those jobs are part time and low paying.  But there I go again, peeking behind the curtain! My hope is that more will do the same! Look behind the curtain, we're being scammed.  See this administration for what it is . . . a humbug! Unfulfilled past promises, unfulfillable future promises and some promises we fear might actually be kept. There's a  humbug in the White House . . . dare I say a very bad man, and an even worse wizard!

The Labor Participation Rate Hits A 31 Year Low: Another Pothole On The Path To A "Better Place"

This future? . . .

http://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/images/user5/imageroot/2012/08-2/Labor%20Force%20Participation%2063.5_0.jpg

The future where the "unemployment rate" falls to ZERO because everyone drops out of the workforce due to despair, desperation, or indolence.  The future where we all collect unemployment, disability, or welfare checks?  That future? A future of "shared government dependence"!

Nahhhh, thanks, I'm thinking the future Americans prefer is the one where you get fired and we all get jobs!

Not In Your Wildest Dream

A hundred years ago... (a bit of hyperbole here, it's really not been *that* long) ... when I was in junior high school civics class, we were given assignment to memorize these words.
We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal.  That they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
I'm sure you recognize this passage as being a part of the Declaration of Independence, one of our nation's founding documents.  To this day I can quote this passage which taught me that as far as our founding fathers were concerned there are certain universal truths, or common facts that should be obvious to us all.  Every human being possesses rights inherited from a creator (architect, designer) who bestows equal value to everyone.

Now you may believe that we were all spontaneously generated and that our rights are issued to us by "the government".  What you cannot do is deny that our founders did not share your point of view.  Having said that, just as sure as Debbie Wasserman Schultz lies, someone will try.  Fortunately, this has always been the exception, not the rule, or at least it was until recently.

Fast forward to the 2012 Democratic National Convention.  Apparently the Democrats have been having second thoughts about our founding documents and some of the basic principles they espouse.  For example, in 2000 the word God was found four times in their official party platform, in 2004 seven times, in 2008 once, and in 2012 God disappeared entirely.  The lone 2008 reference that was removed this year and then hastily strong armed back into the platform yesterday says:
We must keep moving forward and doing the hard work of rebuilding a strong economy by betting on the American worker and investing in a growing middle class. We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.
WOW, you can see how this could be offensive and highly controversial!

What the hell is wrong with these people? When exactly did God become persona non grata in the streets and convention halls of this country?  Our founding principles are based on the assumption of a "creator".   Those principles are sound and have served us well. As they say here in fly over country, "If it ain't broken . . . " But speaking of broken, what are we going to do about the Democrats?

‘‘For Barack, success isn’t about how much money you make, it’s about the differences you make in people’s lives.’’

... The title of this post is a quote from Michelle Obama's Democratic National Convention bedtime story.  Because I try to be 'fair and balanced' *<cough>*, I wanted to give Michelle credit.  If indeed it is "making a difference" in people's lives that matters, then the Obama presidency has been a smashing success. (please note the word 'smashing')

To the:
... Barack Obama has made a profound difference. It's just not the kind of difference a lot of voters had in mind when they voted for the *change* that Obama promised.  I will offer no "I told you so's" even though it's tempting!

The nation has endured and barely survived nearly four years of this president who according to his wife has tried his best.  Who, in good conscience, thinks we should extend his contract for another four years?  Thanks, but no thanks.  His success is the kind we just can't live with.

Addendum:  Another point of agreement with Michelle Obama.

Who Knew!? Joe Biden Is Greek And Paul Ryan Is A Pathological Liar

It's been about two and a half weeks since Mitt Romney announced to an eager crowd in Norfolk and an anxiously waiting team of private investigators and researchers hired by the Democrats that Paul Ryan was his pick for V.P.  Since then, courtesy of the dems,  Ryan and anyone who is even remotely acquainted with him have been the subject of careful scrutiny.  Every past deed or present word that issues forth from Ryan's mouth is analyzed and weighed for accuracy, searching for that one egregious GOTCHA transgression.  Well, they found one! (You *knew* they would)  And they're hot on the trail of a second.  Seems that in a recent interview, Representative Ryan made the audacious claim that he once ran a marathon in under 3 hours. Liar, liar . . . pants on fire!
It's been a tough few days for Paul Ryan's relationship with the truth. Now that the fact-checking of his less-than-honest Republican National Convention speech has been completed, the media has moved on to his claim — made in a radio interview last week — of having run "a two hour and fifty-something" marathon in his youth. As many people who like to run and think about running quickly pointed out, completing a 26-mile run in under three hours is a pretty impressive feat, even for the PX90-loving Ryan. (To pull that off, Ryan would have had to average an under seven-minute mile for the entire race.) Last night, after Runner's World got ahold of the printed results of the event in question (the hilariously named 1990 Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota), which listed Ryan's time as a respectable — but certainly not mind-blowing — four hours and one minute, he backed away from the story.
The N.Y. Magazine goes on to point out that this is a "possible sign of a person who lies congenitally" . . . Possibly?  Why it's as plain as the nose on your face! Now I'm doubting that he's ever done PX90 at all  or that his parents met and fell in love as a direct result of the march over the bridge in Selma . . . OH, WAIT, that was *someone else's* parents!

But if that hasn't persuaded you that Paul Ryan is a pathological liar, this might.  According to the Daily Mail it has been discovered that Ryan's ex-girlfriend spent five months in prison for defrauding her employer.
The former cheerleader was indicted by a grand jury in November 1999, and two years later pleaded guilty to faking receipts and expense claims in order to steal tens of thousands of dollars.
She would apparently transfer the fraudulently obtained funds to a secret bank account in Chicago, where she currently lives.
Following her conviction, Ms Pope was sentenced to five months in federal prison, and was released in May 2002.
So, what did Mr. Ryan know, and when did he know it!?  I haven't figured out what this makes him guilty of, but I'm certain the Democrats will.  At the very least it proves he's a bad judge of character, since he didn't see it coming in the early 90's, or did he?  We all know we will be judged by the company we keep.  Just imagine what the consequences would be for someone who hung around the likes of say ... Tony Rezko, or Bill Ayers!

For further proof of serious character flaws read here.  OH NO, I've done it again . . . Those are *somone else's* lies.
