'Environmental justice'? There's more to it than meets the eye, but as defined by the EPA, environmental justice is:
That very same EPA is spending 1.2 million dollars to insure a "healthy and safe environment" in nail salons. WHEW! It's about time! The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people, regardless of race or income, in the environmental decision-making process.
The EPA has other similar projects on their docket, each one more important than the last, each one funded at your expense, and of course each one protecting minorities and the poor!
Is it racist or uncaring to suggest that this is money that might be better spent in other ways, especially given the state of our economy? Not really, but it's guaranteed to be labelled as such. Whatever!
Suggestion to those in D.C. laboring frantically to find ways to keep us from plunging off that financial cliff: Cut wasteful government spending... Slash the EPA budget and eliminate programs promoting social and environmental justice.
And we call that... a good start!
